What bees are likely to try robbing one of your weak hives?
Bees that have been told by their sisters that there should be food to collect in your area, or bees that have collected food in that area before and are looking for more.

I don't know about Lyson specifically, but there are several other kinds of bee escapes.  If you browse around on a big bee equipment manufacturer's site like BetterBee or Mann Lake, I'm sure you'll find lots of options.  I know BetterBee is a Lyson dealer, so I'm sure they'd have something.

The only bee escape I am familiar with is the triangular escape board. The Lyson boxes have the shoulder that nests each box to the next so the standard escape won't work without modification. Does anyone know of an escape board/insert that fits lyson boxes? Thank you so much!

I haven't even got my first box. I'm just here to learn from you guys and be a fly on the wall. I hope to find a local mentor but don't want to know nothing when I approach him/her.
