From left to right:
Scott ?Hardwood? and his wife-hiding behind Scott, me, unknown, Kent-a local Beek friend, and Iddee.

The unknown was my brother George.  I drug him down there.  He has no interest in bees but had a good time learning about bees.  He loved the mix of people and had a good time.
For me it was fabulous.  Jim and his wife put on a heck of a bee fest.  It is nice to meet the people you talk to on the forum from far a way.  Iddee didn't even make fun of me and was a pleasure to be around.  Sorry Wally I had to let it out.
It was great to meet Yes2Matt and his wonderful kids.  God it is such a pleasure seeing well behaved kids having fun.
I sure would like to see it double or triple in size next year.  Maybe we can take up a collection so Jim doesn't get clobbered with all the expense.
The one that gets the prize for being most involved is Jim's turkey.  He took part in everything and wasn't bashful about putting in his two cents.
Thanks for everything Jim and the misses.

Moe, when we get the dates for next year you'll have to mark your calendar.  It was awesome!

I am waiting on a reply from Jamie Ellis with the date of the 2019 Bee College date. It was the same time as this years and I do not want that to happen next year.
It will bee the second or third weekend in March.

How many people showed up this year?  (including kids and all)

I'll try to make it next year for sure.  This year, I had some health issues that will, hopefully, be sorted out next year.

Does anyone know how to reduce 4 meg jpeg pictures to under 200k.
I have lots of pictures on a CD that Kent took on Friday and Saturday but they are all too big.

I think best way is to throw them up to a photo cite and provide link then you won't lose the quality.

I am contemplating next years beefest.  Maybe I can have my other ear drilled out.
It is kind of funny.  I have had my bees buzz that ear.  It is the one I poked a hole in the eardrum.  Maybe there is pheromones leaking out.  I suppose I could pack cotton in that ear.  Don't know if it will do any good.

The pictures with the top bar hives were at Bobsims House. We split 2 of the hives and gave me the old queens with the splits. He did not want any more than 3 hives.
Just as we were starting it looked like one of the hives was swarming. After close inspection, we realized that it was thousands of drones returning to the this hive. We suspected that there might be a drone congregation area close by and they were using this hive as a refueling station.

Jim, all I can say is Beefest was a wonderful thing for me.  Those that missed it should not miss it next year.  You, your wife, and your son are the pinnacle of southern hospitality.  We need a go fund me page for next year to make it bigger and better.

I just received an email from Jamie Ellis.
They have set the Bee College date, as of today, as March 7-8, 2019.
I am setting the BeeFest 2019 date as March 15-17, 2019.
I will start a new thread for it.
