It is a big circuit breaker, a resettable fuse. When they first went out, it looked kind of suspicious. I figured the lights were on their own circuit. Then they announced that most of the press boxes were out. If the lights were on their own circuit then they should not have been over loaded because they would be designed for all of the lights. Since the press boxes went out, they probably added more equipment (load) than they were designed for. Not just one, but every press box was probably over loaded. A fuse/circuit breaker has a set load it is capable of handling. A 100 amp circuit breaker is designed to be able to handle 100 amps for a short period of time. It can handle 80% of that continuously. Once you go over that amount and stay above 80%, it is only a matter of time before it trips.
Hope this helps.
I bet they isolate the lights to a separate circuit prior to the next big game.
