Eucalyptus identification - Central Victoria
« on: November 02, 2011, 01:00:47 am »
Hey Everybody,

I was wondering if you might be able to help me out with an id of some eucalyptus? These are located in Central Victoria - i'm trying at the moment to learn how to identify them - if anybody has any good references i'd be very keen to know them...

Also, there are quite a few gums flowering at the moment that have flowers on a tree that has a box style of bark - are they yellow gum?

Thanks for your patience

If its budding you know it will flower this year. As far as the brand, well most eucalypts yeild some nectar and pollen. 1000acres is nice way to have eucs bunched together. You travel far and wide to find this arrangement. Try to keep 5ks from major roads, this improve the purity of the honey and reduces likliehood of scum finding your boxes.
