This is the story.
The young lady that hired me to remove this colony said she had removed this same colony from the front left wall section of this same garage, placed them in a four box set up and they absconded within 24 hours to relocate in the rear left wall section.
She said the bees were MEAN. The lady is a biologist and is trying her hand at bee keeping. Her parents bought her a starter kit and she was fortunate enough to catch a swarm and placed them in the four box set up, after the cut out hive left.
I went through the boxes to find 3 frames of bees in the bottom deep, the first time I went by. I didn't have my smoker so asked if I could burrow her's, which she exclaimed I don't have one!
I said, you mean to tell me you removed those bees from the wall without using smoke??
No wonder they were mean! She also said she had made a make shift suit from plastic garbage bags, I asked to see pictures but there wasn't any, dang!
She said the bees were so mean they stung her and chased everyone at the house for two days.
Today she told me the bees have been in this wall for about two months, so I'm thinking, ok, this is what I'm up against, a hive that swarmed out and entered this wall section two months ago.
So, dear people, tell me, do you think its possible this colony has been in this wall section for two months?
Or...
Yes, the colony was MEAN, I vacuumed four boxes of bees and in the 18th and 19th pictures, you can see the rope I was tempted to use, a few times during this removal. :-D
