Shelf life of 2:1 syrup
« on: December 09, 2008, 10:53:00 am »
I have 3 gallons of 2:1 sugar syrup left over. Right now they are in the back of the refrigerator. Will they last til Spring without getting moldy?  If not, is making candy boards a proper alternative too avoid throwing it out?

Also, I quickly checked my 10 hives yesterday and found all but one with the cluster way down inside. The contrary hive was all hanging from the inner cover. The hives are all relatively heavy. Beacause "I know better than them ;) ) I smoked them and they moved on down where "I wanted them. "
Are these just dissidents or will they do the right thing and move down where they belong to make me happy?

Thanks, Ray.

you can freeze it.  put it in something that won't break.  don't fill it to the top.  leave the top off until frozen.  it will be fine in the spring.
Someone really ought to tell them that the world of Ayn Rand?s novel was not meant to be aspirational.

Invert it.  That will help hold down the mold.  Just add a little lemon juice.  Freezing would be ok.
