Wasn't sure where to post this event - for NJ/MD/PA/DE beeks who might be interested in this program that is part of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities Festival Month:

October 15, 2008
A Taste of Ocean County: How Sweet It Is!
Toms River Branch
Ocean County Library
732-349-6200

4:00PM The New Jersey Honeybee: What's all the buzz about? with Cecelia and Alf Berg, Apiarists, Herbertsville Honey. This fun, interactive workshop will take the audience into the world of the Honey Bee.

5:30PM Taste How Sweet it Is! Taste blueberries, honey and Haagen-Dazs limited edition "Vanilla Honey Bee" Ice cream

7:00PM Blueberries - New Jersey's Wonder Fruit with Judith Krall-Russo, Food Historian and Tea Specialist. Learn the history, health benefits and a variety of ways to prepare and savor these berries.

The fine print says don't come if you are allergic to honey or other bee products and that there will be "hives with live bees inside them" - sounds dangerous!  :)
