Oh man,...I missed the welcome wagon. :(
So, may I bring up the rear, Cindi?
Anyways, Heather, welcome to the forums!
I agree with Annette...bees will open your whole world up!
You will see things in such a different light from now on! I've said, again and again, that I feel most people sort of get a calling to do bees. Beekeeping, to me, is a gift from God. Its a way He shows you secret things about life in general, things that non beekeepers dont get to see. This is hard to explain but i bet by this time next year you will know what I'm talking about :)
Theres still bees to be had this time of year, especially in your area. But, if you have to wait till spring, you'll learn the first step to beekeeping.....patience...And when your first bees arrive, you'll feel liike a little kid again!!..Its such a cooool feeling when you can move around your 30,000 bees and not get stung..Its kinda cool for when you get your first sting too!...Its kinda like being "Branded" as a beekeeper!
I started bees last spring..Now I'm ate up with beekeeping! As are most people here! I used to think that beekeeping was so "Square"...never thought twice about seeing a hive or a person in a bee suit. Beekeeping, to me, was just a thing that unknown people do. Nobody i knew had ever mentioned it or anything....Now,....Its totally different!!..I now see beekeeping as the "Coolest" thing there is! Its like a "Secret Society" kind of! Only WE know whats really cool in the world!
Well,..Thats all.....Except for telling you to ask lots of questions...read some books..and, start putting money aside! :)
Oh yeh,....We're all sticky guys here!...Its the honey that makes us this way!!
your friend,
john
