No honey in the honey super
« on: July 16, 2008, 03:07:09 pm »
Although my bees are quite healthy, they seem to have stopped producing honey. I placed a honey super on the hive two weeks ago when my second deep hive was completely filled. But now they have just stopped so there is nothing in the honey super. I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts as to why this might be happening or if there is anything I can do.

we don't know where you are.

no flow=no honey.  they will use what they have stored to raise brood.  if there is no excess, you get no honey.  some years are like that.  if your hive was started from a package, it's more important that they build up, than that they produce excess honey.

if you go to your profile and post your location, someone in your area will be able to better answer your question.
Someone really ought to tell them that the world of Ayn Rand?s novel was not meant to be aspirational.
