I recently crossed paths w/ a man who does removals exclusively for a living. I turned down a removal because it was too high for me. The homeowner called me back to say this man was coming by to do the removal, would I care to watch. So off I went. I am glad I turned down job too.
The bees had an entrance about 25ft above ground between shingles, corner of window and soffit. This man put a fiberoptic camera inside hole and determined bees were about 20 ft above entrance. He then confirmed this w/ infrared scope. He found bees easily, then vacuumed them out and removed comb and was done in about 45 minutes. I never would have found these bees, and the homowner had a much smaller hole to deal w/. Man charged $1200. He doesn't do removals for less then $750, so he took my number so I could do easier cutouts that didn't demand his high tech approach. I was totally amazed. I am also trying to buy some of his older used equipment that was made obsolete by his hi-tech gizmos.
