Mi Familia
« on: December 19, 2007, 11:31:48 am »
Here is a portion of my maternal side of the family.  We hosted a gathering last August and had so much fun...there were 4 generations present.  All decendants from my Garndparents whom hopped on a ship from Spain with 2 small children to seek a "better life" in the USA...the ended up first on the Big Island of Hawaii and worked in the pineapple fields owned by Dole...then they followed other family members to the Monterey Bay...I think of them especially at Chritmas, when I make some of our traditional foods from our area of Spain...a small town called Macotera...

I have been reading about Macotera in wikipedia and it is written a funny sentence: "El macoterano es un amante de su pueblo y habla de él por donde quiera que va" Macoteran is a lover of his village and speaks about it wherever he is. (The earth has three cities: Macotera, Paris and London). ;)

I can see that Macotero descendants have maintained that characteristic.

Salud.

Sharon, ooooh, that is so lovely, what a great picture.  What a wonderful background too.  You are fortunate to have a large family, I share this fortune with you too.

So nice that you posted this picture.  It is a privilege to look at pictures on our forum, and wonderful that our friends take the time to put in pictures, yea!!!!  It brings a great and beautiful smile to my face and makes my day!!!  Have a great, wonderful, and awesome day.  Cindi
