Les it?s been discussed here a couple of more times since I have been a  member here. I don?t recall off hand any significant enthusiastic over the subject as a result of those discussions, (Best to my recollection). TheHoneyPump did however come up with an opposite point of view; Cold as a means of possible varroa control for consideration as food for thought.

Thanks Phillip. I hear and have read information that is both supportive and also critical of this method. It will be interesting to see how it goes in the long term. I?m sure that field results will indicate how effective it will be over time. My bee club was interested in purchasing one but after discussion, it was decided that it may be better waiting to see how it performs in the field. It looks to be a labour intensive process that would be suited to a small operation rather than a larger commercial business.

If it worked as well as claimed we would all be using it to control varroa. One of the worst products that was sold for varroa control was the "Bee Gym".
They still sell to this day.

The problem with heat is that it causes brain damage in the pupae.
