Fair enough.  I am not a fan of EOs.  Did you feel the same as you read through the EOs from Obama?  I don't mind a position.  I do kinda like a consistent position though.

What you posted is also not an answer to the question I asked you.  This is my SHOCKED  face.
They are so divorced from their own interests that even when their own security and that of their children is finally compromised, they do not seek to avert the danger themselves but cross their arms and wait for the nation as a whole to come to their aid. Yet as utterly as they sacrifice their own free will, they are no fonder of obedience than anyone else. They submit, it is true, to the whims of a clerk, but no sooner is force removed than they are glad to defy the law as a defeated enemy. Thus one finds them ever wavering between servitude and license.

Cider, have you lost the ability to read?

Probably as a diversion, but the G&T certainly has 'form'

Joe Biden's presidential campaign condemned the president over the remarks, referencing Trump's past involvement elevating false claims that former President Barack Obama may not have been born in the United States.

"Donald Trump was the national leader of the grotesque, racist birther movement with respect to President Obama and has sought to fuel racism and tear our nation apart on every single day of his presidency," Biden rapid response director Andrew Bates told Fox News in a statement. "So it's unsurprising, but no less abhorrent, that as Trump makes a fool of himself straining to distract the American people from the horrific toll of his failed coronavirus response that his campaign and their allies would resort to wretched, demonstrably false lies in their pathetic desperation."

Biden's honchos would attack anything Trump said. Where do you think the term "fake news" originated? The man passed it off as neatly as he could. Mr. Bates needs to be careful bringing up the past like that. A renewal of the subject may bring out the truth.

The United States is clearly a house divided. One thing that can not be denied, Mr Trump in the first 3 years, clearly reached out to every faction, friend or foe, accomplished more for EVERY group and faction than one that I am aware of as President since our founding fathers, and still hate and division is what is constantly SPEWED at him from all angles, day and night, night and day.  Not only him but all lovers of our Constitution. Constant, ridicule. Yes the left may very well get what they want. They have been very clever with their power of riding the wave of hate and division that their followers has eagerly given them. But once they get their way,  will they really want what they get?  A new county founded on hate? Who will rescue them? What will  they really thing when they see what they have done to their own country? Who has rescued Venezuela? Or the hundreds of millions of dead Chinese? America, freedom, and all dreams of a individual pursuit of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness will be no more. I see it does not help in trying to persuade or change anyone?s mind differently, because it seems minds have already been made and hearts have already been hardened toward America and what our Flag and way of life has represented. We will see. Is this avenue what you wish for America Cider?

No, what I would wish for if I was an American (God forbid) would be a more centrist way, not your extreme rightwing evangelical nutters or at the other extreme left-wing socialist/anarchists. Time for a party of the meridian able to use ideas of the right and left for the good of all. If it ever happens and it's a big if it would be time to paint the dark corner white! :cheesy:

Cider, You are a puzzling person. (edited)

Just how much more central can we get than Donald Trump? He was YOUR champion, the left loved him, until he decided to run for President. ON THE REPUBLICAN TICKET. You on the left did not think he was electable because of his moderate views. You did not think the right would vote for him. (Because as you say we who are Christians are nutters) What you on the left failed to see is we of the right, even the Christian Right that you refer to as nutters, was hoping for a candidate that could bring the Right and Left together. To bring a chance of healing to our land by electing a person that both sides could relate to, that would represent ALL AMERICANS; But no! To the horror of the left (OH no! A Republican candidate may be elected instead of a democrat). Boom instant blind hate toward the man they once admired! Turned on him like a pack of hyenas turning on one of their own out to devour him are still trying to do so. And for what? Why do you hate him so?  I have ask you this before, (why) The best answer that you could give if I remember correctly was "simply because I do not like him"  Hum A (good) reason, do you think?

Mr Trump has done exactly what you described you would want IF you were an American. He has reached out to every faction, every race of Americans,  offering exactly what you described, (a more centrist way). He has welcomed every citizens group with open arms, both friend and foe. Listened intently, reacted and delivered to each. Yet you on the left, and not just the extreme left, have knocked his hand of friendship down at every turn, spitting on him any time he offers it.  But Cider you know these things.

And he may not have been.  We have only two sources for his actual birthplace and both of those say he was born in Kenya.  now, that's water under the bridge, but to say that he may not have been born here is not innacurate.  There is more evidence that he wasn't than that he was.

This is also innacurate.  The first questions asked about Obama and his eligabilty came from the Hillary camp when she was running against him.  No one would have thought to look into it if not for her people bringing it up.  When it was examined, there was no proof that he had been born in the US, and testimoney that he had not.

It was not racist.  It was a constitutonal question.  The rest is just BS.

Which extreme rightwing evangelical nutters are you reffering to?  What impact have they had on policy.  On the other hand, the left-wing socialist/anarchists HAVE impacted policy.

I am not overly fond of centrists as defined by the left.  It is a combination of people who are uninformed, can't make up their minds, and don't stand for anything.  Pick a lane.  Defend your position.    Off the top of my head, I can't think of any left wing ideas that are good

Thank you, Kathy. I felt Ben had hit a bit too hard with his attack, so was going to stay quite, but you took time to answer without attacking Cider. He is totally wrong in his rant, but a counter explanation is much better than an attack.
Thank you again.

Iddee shame on you! You of all people should know that Cider and I are the best of friends. You know as well as he does that I was just playing with him as he was with me, first by calling we on the right which may be Christians "right wing evangelical nutters" Who was doing the attacking and who was doing the hitting back defending? As he and I was both joking. At least I took it Cider was joking? Do you know something I do not know?

"You are a nut". That is an attack.

That's your opinion and are entitled to it. Perhaps when Cider answers Kathys question.

> "Which extreme rightwing evangelical nutters are you reffering to?  What impact have they had on policy.  On the other hand, the left-wing socialist/anarchists HAVE impacted policy." And she went on to say, "Defend your position."

If Cider shows he is not attacking all Christians in general, I will be the first in line to apologize to him, you, and the entire beemaster family and readers thereof.

I will remind you, Evangelicals have been persecuted from the very start of Christianity. Centuries before they left England on the Mayflower, coming to America to escape the rigors of religious persecution from the crown, leaving everything they had including family and friends which was no small feat! Or lack of courrage! Later building this Nation on those very same Evangelical principles that are under attack today and considered by many to be nuts.

I feel sure those brave evangelicals may have also fallen into this class of "extreme evangelical nutters" as well?  How much more extreme would it have been to leave the only home they had ever known, with no phone to call home or mail service to get in touch. Coming here Strictly on Faith In Our Lord God Almighty and the Saving Power of his only Begotten Son The Lord Jesus Christ. Pretty extreme wouldn't you say? Is this the type of religious nutters cider is referring to? The very "nutters" that led the way to the foundation of America?

Yes I agree with Kathy explain which group you are referring to cider my friend. If I owe you an apology and see you were not attacking me for being a Christian, and all other Christians, I will gladly apologize.

By the way, this is the Coffee house?  I am allowed to post a bible verse as I did in the previous couple post above, when making a point aren't I?  Without fear of persecution?  😬

Post anything you want. I have been here long enough to guess fairly accurately what the mods and John will allow and what they won't. I am just trying to keep you from going with Finsky, Bluebee, and others.

Here is where I think you went overboard. I'm surprised you weren't visited by the mods for it.

Well iddee again I am surprised at you.  I have told you that I was kidding with cider in a joking way. Even you did not leave out the "lol" of that quote.

I did not intend to attack cider But was kidding with him, teasing him if you will.

Cider knows I love him and am honored to have him as a debating buddy and personal friend, we have been in close proximity even when he was going through a very tragic personal experience. If you will recall I PMed and told you of this tragedy. As I know you care for him too. Maybe I shouldn't have, and maybe it was not my place to do so,  but out of my genuine concern for Cider, I thought you should know. And you told me you did not know. And thanked me for telling you. He and I talked of things and let me know then, when things were better he would be back for more here at the coffeehouse. I told him to take his time, come back when he was ready, shooting with both barrels lol. And I would be gladly be here ready to tangle lol. Are you trying to cause division between cider and I by keeping on about this?

I am telling you in front of all the world to see and read. Cider, I have grown to love you as family. I know you already know this. Maybe iddee needs to know it too, but I thought he already did.  He should also know that you are a very intelligent, fluent, articulate  person, with a vast vocabulary, who is very capable of speaking for yourself. Blessings to you my friend.

PS I look forward to you answer to Kathys question. lol
