Ace, Cider, Friends of Yours?
« on: November 30, 2019, 02:16:43 am »
It looks like middle of the isle democrats are getting tired of the far left. There words, "WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!" Are they justified and right? Sure they are in my opinion...

If it had been shown on the BBC or another neutral broadcaster, instead of the rabid rightwing OAN! you can only imagine the amount cherry-picking editing that went on.

What is your point?

Disagreement is better for ratings than consensus.

How small does a minority need to be before we can simply silence their opinion and not consider thoughts that do not align with ours?

Obviously you have heard the quote "I would fight to the death so you can say that" as in the people in the video. What I disagree with is the way they are being used by a known rabid right-wing so-called 'news channel' Note the "stop the coup" placards.

But on a lighter note....

AH, YES, there are 2 types of good lawyers. Retired, as Dallas, and dead. Hope Dallas stays in the first group for many years.

It doesn't take an attorney to see that the middle or the road, voting democrats, have had enough of the far leftist desires  and agenda for America. They can see how good things are going here in America. And as the democrat lady in the video says, We Democrats have had enough!! Its time to go forward to a better America and ''stop the coup'' and she went on to say, ''democrats are in a walk away movement''
As I recall, the South basically walked away from the democrats several years ago. Now if this lady is right, what will be left of the democratic party?

what part of "on a lighter note" don't you understand? You could maybe get iddee to explain it to you. As you know many of his thoughts are of a 'lighter side' that tend to float away.

It does feel like a coup attempt from my perspective. Disgraceful.

So only rabid left-wing comedians and cable news channels can spew their hate?
I used to watch Seth Meyers. Then he went off the deep end after Trump won the election. I did not click on the link you provided. Thanks anyway.

I cannot watch Steve Colbert anymore either. Although Colbert comes up with some funny stuff. Meyers is pure venom. Fallon has the found the balance. Not every routine pounds on the president.

It was about the time of Ronald Regan. Now it seems that the middle of the road Democrats in the north are beginning to see the light also as per the video at the beginning of this topic. The average  Democrat has had enough of the shenanigans.  Just in the last month you have lost many independence voters according to polls. Wonder why?

The yankees go back north after awhile.

Back when the Unions were strong and the Democrats were pro Union and pro working man, the Democrats ruled.  Now that the jobs are gone because of Democrat policies and the Democrats are calling them "uneducated white men" and "a basket of deplorables" the Democrats are losing them.

Now that the jobs are gone because of Democrat policies
Jobs are gone because of corporate greed and capitalism.  If the country was socialistic the jobs would not be going offshore.  China is socialistic and protects its own interest.  I find it a laugh that Trump was elected by conservatives and he used socialistic measures against China, robed from the till to pour money into the hands of the rich instead of the poor to try and MAGA.  Everyone is all happy because the economy looks good when all it is a fuse to the bomb that is coming when it comes time to pay the piper.  Conservatives believe that hand outs don't work.  So how can they be so happy when it was done for the top 1%?  The trickle down theory only lasts a short time.  It has been done before.  The result will be the same... another bomb.  The unsuspecting middle class will bear the brunt especially when we bail out corporate american now.  Socialism for corporate america, the new conservatives.  Democrat policies?  What a joke Mike.

>Jobs are gone because of corporate greed and capitalism.

Corporate greed and capitalism is exactly and completely what CREATES jobs.  That's only reason there are ANY jobs.  Government greed, bureaucracy and socialism is what forces those jobs to move to other countries.  Just wait until we get a "wealth tax" and all the greedy capitalists will leave WITH the jobs.

Government greed, bureaucracy and socialism is what forces those jobs to move to other countries.
Comparatively lower aggregate costs abroad (real estate, taxes, wages, regulations, etc.) causes jobs to move to other countries.
Companies seek lower costs driven by consumer greed. Greed is good. Greed efficiently allocates limited resources, like your take home pay.

Ben you don't see all these characterizations in Trump?  It is amazing what people can't see.

Mr Bush said
"Politician (especially leftists) attitude toward common people:"

Actually I do see some of these characteristics in Mr Trump Ace. But not toward common people, just the FAR left, the crazies. I do not think that the very few on the far left qualify as common people as watching the way they act at Trump Rallies, knocking over poor old crippled women in wheelchairs. Remember, Mr Trump is not a politician, he is a business man who has taken some valuable time from his personal and business life to help the country. And help the country he has!! Very commendable of him indeed!  Even still the nuts on the far left want to impeach him. After all he has done for the good of our country, after all that he has done for our citizens, and the common man. Has the leftist lost their everloving minds? Do not despair Ace, the common man, both democratic and republican, liberitarn, and independent are waking up! Just watch the first video posted here.

Towards politicians who show these characteristics towards their constituents?  Yes.  Towards the news media who show these characteristics towards their constituents?  Yes.  Towards his constituents?  No.

Politician (especially leftists) attitude toward common people:
Snobbery
Arrogance
Condescension
Pomposity
Pretentiousness
Haughtiness
Superiority
Disdain
Derision
Scorn
Ridicule

And they can't figure out how Brexit passed or how Trump got elected...
Brexit's.......Passed?..........Now, do you really want to know how G&T was elected!!! it may be quite painful, to your ego. :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

Towards his constituents?  No.
Really?  He has attacked women, blacks, Hispanics, Indians etc.  None of these groups are his supporters?  Good luck 2020.

Well Ace, there you go again. Everyone knows that Mr Trump defends himself against all attackers no matter the race, including his own race, or gender.  Perhaps these above (particular specific individuals) that he let have it, were attacking him because of his race? Surely not?

NO, he has not. He has attacked individuals in all groups, without prejudice as to which an idiot belongs. He will attack all who need attacking. He doesn't pick and choose groups like the left does.

How many rich, fat, old, white men has he fired from his administration?
I guess that is just not NEWSWORTHY! Let us just highlight the members of protected groups for the shock value.

Incog,
Let's take a look at Federal Judges President Trump has appointed.  Just to be fair, Trump has been in office three years.

Pew Research has appointed a greater share of women than other Presidents:
https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/10/02/trump-has-appointed-a-larger-share-of-female-judges-than-other-gop-presidents-but-lags-obama/
Sadly, many women and minorities are having their nominations delayed by democrats.

You can count gender on your own for appointments and nominations.  I doubt you will but here it is (they don't include race for the identity politics wing):

Jvalentour,
I try to live my life gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, age, national origin, political views, etc. neutral - ignoring all that by treating people as individuals.

I have no interest in scorecards that try to divide us rather than unite us or applaud the progress of one subset to the unjust detriment of other subsets. That is a fool's game to me. Or just proves that someone else has a biased agenda.

I bear no guilt for the inequities of the past. Humankind has a poor record on fairness going back thousands of years.

>He has attacked women, blacks, Hispanics, Indians etc.

I have not seen him attack any group.  He does attack people based on their actions.  Any quote you've seen about groups are totally out of context.  he often, in the same SENTENCE says that he is not saying this group is like this but some of the people are and we need to filter them out.  He is not wrong in thinking that if you don't filter immigration you won't get the best.  Canada has been carefully filtering who they let in by skill and what their economy needs for a century or more and they have a very diverse culture while not over burdening their infrastructure and while helping their economy.
