With the amount of money we give in foreign aid, we should be able to appoint their leaders. We definitely pay enough to deserve the right.

I'd like to know of a president since Wilson who didn't interfere with someones elections.  I'm not saying it's a good idea, but to lay it all on one president is pretty unfair.  Plus I don't know of any actual evidence that Trump did that.  I know the lies that CNN and CBS and MSNBC tell, but actual evidence I have not heard.

All nations try to influence the politics of other nations.  Russia has messed in ours for decades.  We mess in the elections of others.  None were so blatant about it as the Obama admin and Israel.

This is the GoT that is played by all and always has been.  The feigned horror from the left is laughable.
They are so divorced from their own interests that even when their own security and that of their children is finally compromised, they do not seek to avert the danger themselves but cross their arms and wait for the nation as a whole to come to their aid. Yet as utterly as they sacrifice their own free will, they are no fonder of obedience than anyone else. They submit, it is true, to the whims of a clerk, but no sooner is force removed than they are glad to defy the law as a defeated enemy. Thus one finds them ever wavering between servitude and license.

Ah, thank you for saying that.  No if you are a thinker you might ask yourself why Russia supports a certain candidate and if you should vote for him.

Exactly.  And Russia was definitely colluding with Hillary.  And I didn't vote for her...

I also didn't vote for Trump but I still have not seen any evidence that Russia wanted to elect him over Hillary.  After all Hillary did them many more favors for them for which she was well paid.

Considering how kind the Obama admin was to Russia and Obama promised more of the same with Hillary, if choosing our president was their goal they would have wanted her.

Their real goal is to foment unrest and distrust.  If we don't trust our election system we don't accept the results, as an example.  They mess in our elections more for effect than outcome just as they used to mess in the anti-war protests, have promoted communist ideology in schools, and spend time on the social media outlets stirring things up.  They like to watch us spin and while we are spinning, we are destroying ourselves from within.  That's something they swore to do decades ago and they have made a good go of it.

Seems that is also the goal of the democrats as per judging the way the dems are handling the impeachment situation, Soviet Style.  I can't see a lot of difference in Russia and the democratic party;  except distance.

This has nothing to do with impeachment.  They know they can't get it through the Senate anyway.  It has to do with keeping things stirred up and the reason they were trying to do it in secret was that they could control the info that was allowed out.  They still can.  Look at the first two testimonies they allowed to be published.

Schiff is the wrong person for them to have put in charge if they wanted this to even appear to be fair.  He lies even when the truth is in evidence.  Nancy knows this is backfiring and the only thing she could do was force it to become more public, but Schiff still has the power to run it the way he wants including vetoing testimony and witnesses.  Since the dems get their info from sympathetic sources, they will not know the difference.

The Russians spent $3000 on Google Ads for the 2016 campaign.  Granted, they had numerous trolls in social media, but who reads that crap?  Comments in the MSM are blocked, (see the NYT and Wapo) it's the smaller media who allow comments.  The Russians did little or nothing to affect the 2016 election, period.  You cannot prove I am wrong.

The Democratic Party, the party that places itself above country, is the enemy of democracy.  The media married into the Obama administration and burrowed into the bureaucracy to influence policy during and after the last Democratic administration.  Our enemy is from within.  I have written about burrowing on this site in the past

This Ukraine whistleblower bullcrap is a CIA op.  The accusers are all FBI/CIA those suffering from empleomania.  The accusers and "witnesses" have a history of activism for varied interests.  They are PO'ed State Department employees who have lost their job and/or are confirmed leakers with an agenda.   They soon will be suffering from Idontwanttogotojailmania if AG Burr does his job.

Pelosi is a fox, no match for Trump.  If the wistleblower was orchestrated it would have happened in March of 2020.  She caved under the pressure of voting democrats.

I don't disagree with your conclusion.  I am just pointing out that Russia messing about in our elections and in our society as a whole is not new.  It has always been and will always be.  They are not the only ones who do it, but they have probably been doing it the longest.

You do not think people read that stuff?  I have quite a few leftist friends on FB and they soak up every bit of it and spew it back.

This foreign influence / meddling concern is so overstated.
What percentage of voters can really be swayed to an extreme position? My guess is that it is fairly low.
Has any political advertisement changed your point of view? Not mine.
Hell would have to freeze over before I voted for any democrat in the next presidential election....or Acebird voted for Trump.

ETA:I  must have grown callous to all the leftist media reporting to the point where I can identify the spin and tune it out. Maybe the leftist need more practice by tuning into Fox.

That's probably true in elections, but I don't think swaying elections is the point of election meddling.  Causing us to lose faith in our system is.  The general influence-peddling of the Russians, Chinese, etc. has certainly had an impact.  The fact that our MSM has largely ignored things like the HK protests, now having gone on for months, is a sin of omission and an example of the leanings of many who have the power to influence and promote/ignore what does not fit the current narrative.
The fact that our higher education system is run by leftists had has been for decades is not an accident.  The result is a generation that has it's hand out and thinks everything should be FREE.

If you want to influence a nations thinking and you are happy to play the long game, you do exactly what has been done.  I never thought that in my lifetime we would have people in government openly embracing socialism, but they are.  I never thought we'd be having someone run for president who has always been a fan of the communist Russia system, but we do.
