Oxalic Acid Shop Cloth
« on: June 20, 2019, 01:53:15 pm »
I'm beginning to find pieces of shop cloth on the ground in front of the hive.

This is after I added a super with foundation ahead of the Mesquite flow, which is beginning with the warmer weather.

Previously, they were merely propolizing it.

That is what you want.  The shop towel OA method is much more effective when the bee shred the shop towel.  If the bees propolize the shop towel, the hive gets little benefit from the treatment in my experience.  Hence why I stopped using this method of varroa mite treatment.

They seem to be shredding it now.

I expect also that they are walking over it to explore the new space and want to clear the way to the super.
