Did the Iranians?? YES.  Did they also blow up shopping centers, buses, ETC. ETC. with many civilians being killed? YES. If a bank robber accidentally shoots his partner, is it the bank's fault for having the money available?? Com'n, cider, even you can do better than that.

Pills and salt are much better than LSD. Maybe you need to switch. You are hallucinating badly.

Ah haa haaa haaaa. No offence Cider but that was funny!!!  I had resolved to keep my post to the beekeeping section because I did not want to let my smart mouth along with Mr Beemaster, to send me  to la la land,'' the land of blue bee!'' But dang iddee it looks like that is where you are headed my friend. So "Where we go one, we go all" .  :cheesy:

Sorry Ben, but I don't think the shooting down of civilian airliners by no matter whom, to be remotely funny. How many shopping centres, buses were blown up in Iraq, Libya, Afganistan etc that iddee seems to think are throw away statistics or collateral damage. He needs to get a grip of his senses before they have totally left him.

So it doesn't bother you that so many died in the shot down plane so long as "trump won once again" Great humanity

Since Iran did it, I see no reason for anyone else to own that.  It was also a Russian surrogate or perhaps the Russians who shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight.  We never did get the full story on that as I recall.

as for 1988, my brother as on the USS Vincennes.  There was a lot more to that story than most know, although much of it has come out in anonymous reports and speculation.  In that case, those reports are more true than false.
Could you then, from your familial experience, enlighten us on the 'true' facts?

Nor do I not think it is funny when anyone is killed on either side of any equation, in my opinion it is a tragedy. The Iranians, Ukrainians, Russians, English, as well as American?s love their family members and their fellow countrymen. It is a tragedy. My heart goes out to all who have suffered on all sides. If it was up to me the hate would end, the endless wars would end. Unfortunately, hate is running ramped. Allow me clarify, It was the shooting you down by Iddee that I got tickled about... Good clean fun among friends....

Not funny at all, especially when the wrong ones are blamed for doing it. I'm just trying to get you to realize where it came from.

Of course,. you already know, just refuse to admit it.

This just about says it all.

Yes and they are in Congress to destroy the US we know and love. Only reason for making a law like that is to encourage thugs to come here illegally and commit their crimes on Americans.
Congress is so screwed up that if we do not vote these people out of office, we will be forced to start all over.

I don't think that bill will pass, but it gives us an indication of where they want to take us.  When they find out they can't pass something like this they will do it incrementally.  It won't take the squad and their followers to learn this.

They are the next generation of congress and we need to be prepared.

They are so divorced from their own interests that even when their own security and that of their children is finally compromised, they do not seek to avert the danger themselves but cross their arms and wait for the nation as a whole to come to their aid. Yet as utterly as they sacrifice their own free will, they are no fonder of obedience than anyone else. They submit, it is true, to the whims of a clerk, but no sooner is force removed than they are glad to defy the law as a defeated enemy. Thus one finds them ever wavering between servitude and license.

If you are correct, and it looks as if you may very well be.  I have a question Jim. I can not understand why these folks wish to do so? (the squad) Why the radicalism?  Wonder why they are so radically minded? It baffles me (the unanswered questions) as to why they would want to kill the goose that is laying the golden eggs 🥚. It seems  our country is so very blessed as compared to most countries in the world? Why would anyone want to destroy that? Maybe you can tell me?

Ben,
First of all socialism is being heavily pushed in the public schools, even more so our colleges. The second reason is power. That is why removing our guns is their number one priority. You cannot have the total power that they want with a well armed society.

Hi folks,

This just can't be true, can it?

Paul Krugman, the Nobel Prize-winning trade economist and New York Times columnist, celebrated the sharp decline of the stock market due to the coronavirus on the grounds that, in his opinion, it would hurt President Donald Trump.

?Economists, myself included, often make a point of saying that the stock market is not the economy, which it isn?t. It *is,? however, pretty much the Trump presidency,? Krugman tweeted. ?Take away his magic talisman and there?s nothing left.?

Krugman was one of the most prominent economists to predict that markets would collapse following the election of Donald Trump.

Hi Folks,

This guy is a local reporter, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, turned talk show host. He still has a newspaper column. A friend sent me this from him:

 From Howie Carr:

When are the layoffs going to begin in the state?s hackeramas like Massport and the University of Massachusetts?

I mean, fair?s fair, isn?t it? If sales clerks in strip malls and waitresses and line cooks who are making short money doing real jobs are going to end up broke and collecting unemployment, what about all the overpaid hacks on the state payroll who are being given what amounts to yet another paid vacation?

The commonwealth has a ?rainy day fund? stuffed with billions of dollars for alleged emergencies. This is what the kleptocrats on Beacon Hill will be dipping into as tax revenues crater to keep the good times rolling for their friends and relatives on the public dole.

The governor, Tall Deval, hasn?t totally shut down the Dreaded Private Sector yet, but things are moving into that direction. Next door, in New York, Gov. Andrew ?Baby Doc? Cuomo has already ordered the closure of all ?non-essential? businesses.

If it?s your business, or you?re getting a paycheck from one, you are not likely to consider the enterprise ?non-essential.?

UMass, on the other hand. ?

Two headlines from Saturday?s Wall Street Journal: ?Downturn Could Cost 5 Million Jobs,? and ?Low Wage Workers Face Brunt of Coronavirus Crisis.?

Massport, on the other hand. ?

Of course no police or firefighters or EMTs or hospital personnel should face the prospect of losing their jobs. Obviously they are ?essential.?

But most of the public sector is anything but. Let?s start with UMass. It?s shut down, for all practical purposes. Check out the UMass salaries on the Herald website. Just scroll down the first thousand or so, say, to the $200,000 level. Tell me who?s more essential to anyone?s life ? the UMass ?staff administrator? making $252,591 a year, or the single mom handling take-out at your favorite fast-food hamburger joint.

Who has a job affecting more people?s lives ? your laid-off local dental hygienist, or UMass? ?assistant to the president? who makes $245,364.91?

A friend of mine flew out of Logan Airport Friday night to West Palm. He was one of four passengers on the flight. I don?t think Massport is collecting a lot of their customary exorbitant ?fees? this weekend.

So when is Massport going to start its reductions-in-force (RIFs), like everybody in the Dreaded Private Sector?

As I mentioned here last week, Massport now has a ?deputy director, state affairs and community affairs,? for $130,000 a year, as well as a ?deputy director, community relations and federal affairs,? for $129,375 a year.

Do you think either of those two legacy hacks is worried about having to lift their snouts from the trough?

Of course not. They?ll be ?telecommuting,? wink wink nudge nudge.

The chairwoman of Massport, an old Mitt Romney hack, makes $360,000, and the guy she beat out for the job got a $311,000-a-year consolation sinecure.

We all get why the retail and hospitality industries have to fire people ? if there?s no revenue coming in, the owners can?t pay the workers, the vendors, the landlords or the banks, not to mention themselves.

The politicians always lecture us that we?re all in this together, until something like this happens, when we find out we?re not, actually. If my daughter has her hours cut back because nobody?s walking through the doors of the business she works at, what about the payroll Charlies at the courthouses?

Nobody?s walking through those courthouse doors either.

House Speaker Bob DeLeo had no problems with shutting down vaping sales last year and throwing hundreds out of work until the taxes were raised to 75%. Now, he wants to jack up the state?s gasoline taxes by a nickel (a bargain compared to Tall Deval?s plan to raise them 26 cents per gallon).

So why doesn?t the un-indicted co-conspirator tighten his 50-inch belt for a change ? how about an unpaid furlough for DeLeo?s $142,515-a-year godson in the now-not-busy-at-all hack-infested Probation Department? And maybe the godson can take along the college-dropout wife of DeLeo lieutenant Tom Petrolati, who makes $134,786 a year for doing ? whatever.

On Friday night, with taxpayers sweating the economic dislocations that are coming our way, the hackerama officially announced what we told you weeks ago ? none of the crooked Massachusetts state troopers are going to lose their pensions just because they embezzled a few hundred thousand dollars from the taxpayers.

Fourteen of them are already retired. These greedy, crooked cops suffered no consequences for their crimes ? they haven?t even had to make restitution for the money they stole ? and now their kisses in the mail range from $69,000 to $106,000 a year.

A failed candidate for president used to say that there were ?two Americas.? He was right, just not in the way he meant it.

In one America, the hacks are planning how they?re going to enjoy this latest paid vacation. In the other America, people who actually keep the nation running are wondering how they?re going to put food on the table ? and pay for the pensions of the crooked state police.

Multiply that by all the cities and states and, to paraphrase Everett Dirksen, before long you're talking about real money.

The air in downtown NYC is safe to breathe - 9/12/2001
I just want to remind you of one of the biggest lies.

Your health care professionals are or will be subject to enormous inadequately protected risk. When they go down, there will not be anyone to care for you.
Do not believe the happy talk about getting them the personal protection equipment they need from the stockpiles. How long does it take to ship supplies?

My wife is a health care worker. Two of her coworkers tested positive for Covid-19.
We are in Suffolk County New York, in one of the US corona virus active outbreak areas. 1034 confirmed cases, 12 deaths, none recovered to date.
https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6
If you are a health care professional, get N95 masks wherever you can!Do not throw them out after one use!
Save them in a big bag, just do not throw them out.

Check your local police precinct, fire department, hardware store. Get what you need before the outbreak hits your area.

Please, please, please - do not hoard them if you are not a health care worker.

Covid-19 patients younger than 60 are being put on ventilators, most are older, some are not.
Current survival rates for patients put on ventilators is not good.

Ventilators are not a magic solution.

Youngest to die of Covid-19 in the UK is 18yrs old, admittedly with underlying problems. This epidemic is not something that will be over in a "few weeks" it will take months and cost a lot of lives. Stay well and help others

It won't be over, but hopefully, it will be on the decline and be just another normal happening, like flu and pneumonia. Nothing to upset the whole world over.
