Annette,
What is the difference between bakers sugar and regular sugar?
Jim

Jim I have to be honest. I am a great follower of Michael Bush and he said to use Bakers Sugar so I just used what he said.

I made up about 5 quart jars of moistened sugar.
The first one I made bakers sugar from regular. Took a bunch of grief from my wife and son and how it would not work using a blender. It did and they were supprized.
I initally filled the blender 1/2 way. The  bottom blends but only a couple of inches. I had to do it in small amounts.
I only made one jar of bakers sugar.
The rest I did with regular sugar.
I used an old cut up QE to make 5 disks to put in the lid rings to keep the sugar from fallin in the hive.
This allows the bees to go into the jar but keeps the sugar in the jar.

I can't remember the specifics on the amount but, the difference between table sugar and bakers sugar is that the bakers sugar has a set amount of fuctose sugar in it. So technically if you fed it straight to the bees, it would be more digestible.
I never used it as the nearest/cheapest place was twenty miles away, fifty lb bags and as I recall a nickel more a pound.
