of course you can.  why do it?  why not....+ if you are going to do cut comb (i know, not the question) it is great.

i agree with those who say start with 10 until they are drawn.  you can go to 8 or 9 next year.  if you get some wonky comb, cut it out and they'll fix it next year. 

carol, if you can get them to draw stuff out this year, even if you don't get to keep the honey, you are that much ahead for next year.
doesn't matter whether you use foundation or not, they still have to attach it. they still have to draw it.
