Depends on what you call entitlement. Do you consider your weekly paycheck an entitlement? After all, it is something you receive for something you did.
If your car is hit by someone else, is it an entitlement when they pay you for the damage they did? If so, I guess it was an entitlement that paid for the surgery. The Army said it was caused by something they did and they were liable.

What did they say they did to cause it? I may be able to get on the same bandwagon.

They said they sprayed agent orange and other deadly chemicals on our heads to cause it.

As for your post, Ace, I've never drawn a welfare check for any reason. Have you?

Isn't getting 'free, jump the queue medical care' a 'welfare cheque' what is? Are all the similarly affected Vietnamese people getting free healthcare? Not that I begrudge you it!.............well mostly!

Cider, I don't know what the vietnamese government gives their soldiers and citizens, and truthfully don't care. 55,000 of my fellow Americans died, and an untold number were wounded, trying to give them a democracy, but with too little help and too much opposition, it was impossible. All I know is that the American government cares for it's soldiers that contacted Ischemic Heart Disease and COPD from our government actions. NO, I think that is paying their liabilities, not welfare.

If your receiving it , it's "their liabilities" if not its welfare. Same side of the coin really taxpayer still pays! Maybe that's why the GT wangled his way out of serving in your conflict. Strange that, he seems to like orange :cheesy:

Not sure what post you are referring to but I have never drawn a welfare check from the government.  I did draw unemployment when I was 57 years old but did not take part in the extensions that were promised.  Far too degrading.  In about 7 months I will lower myself to draw my social security BENEFIT.  I am already forced to take part in the old man Medicaid program called Medicare even though I have medical coverage from work.

Cider, if the gov takes your house and land to build a road, then compensates you for it with tax money, do you consider that welfare?

No,
They purchased your property. Are you saying they purchased your body? No of course they didn't, they are giving you a welfare cheque by way of paying your medical bills. You get treatment for being dosed with Agent Orange, a hell of a lot of innocent civilians were also dosed with Agent Orange will your government pay their medical bills? Of course not, you walked away. "we don't do nation building" I seem to remember being said about Iraq. DT  didn't even make it to Vietnam , never mind nation building. What did he do, abscond to Canada? Apparently not his Doctor said he had a bone spur on his heel no need to run to Canada after all, just carry on playing football, golf etc "I will have to put up with the pain"the spurs give me. darn sight better than being shot at or dosed with Agent Orange, what do you reckon iddee after all they put you through it.

I see GT has succumbed to public opinion and lowered the flags back to half mast. At least John McCain did make it to Vietnam not cry off.

To insult a deceased war hero should make even you cringe.

Obama went head to head with McCain about policy but gave him the respect he deserves for serving this country.  Donny boy just keeps insulting.  The lying, the bullying, down right criminal activity and for God's sake treason is slowly putting the loop around his neck.  Lock him up.  Please.
The funnest thing I have seen on FB is a face to face photo of Donny and Obama and the caption reads (from Obama) " I stapled a copy of my birth certificate to your indictment."  Oh if it were only true. MAGA My Attorney Got Arrested.

Cider{to insult a deceased war hero should make even you cringe.}

Agreed, Cider, agreed. I was very disappointed at the white house response, or better stated the lack of a proper response.  Flags lowered only after public outrage.

NO, they purchased my health, not my body. They are still making payments on my health.
No other gov. paid for my problems, so why should my gov. pay for any other nation's civilians. Our government made billions of dollars foreign aid, but I guess you don't count that. What months and years did Clinton and O'bummer serve. I can't seem to find that info. At least Trump done his humping before he got in, not on 21 year old interns. As for Ace's pic, it sure took him long enough for him to get someone to make him a US birth certificate and hide his Indonesian one, didn't it?

As for McCain, of course O'bummer liked him. He voted with the democrats on every bill he ever voted on.  Why shouldn't he like him? Him and Boehner were the two biggest RINOs we ever had.  As for being a hero, he was a pilot doing what fighter pilots do, and failed at that. He got shot down. After that, who knows what happened. We sure don't. We do know he came out alive, where many of the POWs didn't. I wonder if some of his ""heroic?"" actions might have saved his butt and cost others theirs. We will never know, will we? I do know know he never done anything extra courageous to be considered a hero.

Yes, if we had a hero to insult, it would make me mad for someone to do so.

NO, VAN, the flags were lowered immediately after his death. The law says for a senator, it is for that day and one more. That was done. The outrage was because he didn't extend the time with a presidential proclamation. Get your info correct, please. CBS, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, and CNN give us all the fake info we need and then some. As for insults, how about the McCain family not inviting Sarah Pallin, his presidential running mate, to his funeral. Now that's what I call a real low class insult.

The analogy is "a soldier is doing his job as a soldier if he gets shot and killed he failed in doing his job" one should be able to insult him?

You think John selected her.  She is as stupid as Donny.  That choice was another darn fool mistake the republicans made.
Looks like mutiny in the white house.  (could be fake news )  This keeps up there will only be a few suck holes left.

I find it amusing that the Demorats are mourning McCain's passing with more wailing and gnashing of teeth than the Republicons.

McC and Pailin never did get along.  She was merely an ultra-conservative shill the Repiblicons threw in the mix to counterbalance the liberal RINO McCain.  That move didn't fool anyone, so the Republicons lost to the Demorat that didn't even pretend to be anything but a socialist.
Foolish sheeple people.
Winter is coming.

I can't say I hate the government, but I am proudly distrustful of them.
