Which magazine is better? I want a subscription, but not to both.

Tough question. I get both and enjoy each one. As a new beekeeper I find it well worth getting both.

They are both excellent. One is not better than the other. Flip a coin, if you insist on one.

My opinion is that Bee Culture may be geared a bit more toward the hobbyist compared to ABJ. If you can't afford both, get together with a bee-buddy and share subscriptions.

We get both, and I wouldn't want to have to choose between them. They're both excellent.

I like Inypartidges idea. I get both. If you join a bee club, you get a reduced price. ABJ is more technical w/ more end notes and refernces clearly stated. They get involved in testing and detailed explanations of how tests were conducted in great deatil too. BC is more hobbyist oriented as someone else noted.

ivan, they are both online and you can look them up. that's how i subscribed and got cost.
i take both, but i think if i had to choose one as a new beekeeper, i'd take bee culture. it has practical stuff for all levels of beekeeping.

Someone really ought to tell them that the world of Ayn Rand?s novel was not meant to be aspirational.

Also if you are a memeber of your local bee club you get a discount for that.

I asked the same question last summer. I ended up getting both and am glad I did.

Yeah, I guess I'll get both. It'll just have to wait for a little bit. Been spending so much on beekeeping stuff that I forgot about my bills. ;-)
