My friend would say, "look what those stupid bugs did." but I won't say that, I will say,
"well usually they draw comb in kind of a droopy oval shape, but I guess not this time."

Update: well, they completed their project. It only gets more wonky. But it stays in its frame space.

The last couple pics are from another "colony" -- I pulled an occupied swarm trap during the daytime, and replaced it with a new one. So all the bees out foraging at the time came home to a same-size-same-shape box but no colony. So they drew some wonky comb, laid 2-5 eggs in each cell (including a Q-cell) and were just doing their best for three weeks.
