I want to relocate a beehive about 500 yards from its present home.
I was advised to seal entrance during the night.
Then move the hive at least 5 miles from home and leave it there for at least a week.
Then move it back to the new location.
Is there a simpler way?

Yes, there is a simpler way. If you put your location in your profile, we can tell you the best way, or what each of us consider the best way, for your area. :?
