Combining hives

I have combined two of my weaker hives. It is my first attempt. I did it a week ago using the newspaper method. I need to combine the three deeps into two for the winter. Should I put some of the brood from the weaker hive in the lower deep and fill the second deep with honey stores.

sure sounds good to me if you have that many empty frames in the deeps. spraying with sugar water, or smoking them when you mix it wouldn't hurt you. And dont forget to kill the extra queen. Preferably the weaker one. ;)
