Describe Your Honey

Describe this year's batch of honey. The taste and color.

This year is the closest we've gotten to that perfect golden color but it's a few tints to light. The taste is very sweet but has a fruit-like flavor to it, almost like cherries.

Being around the bend from you, my honey is very lite w/ fruity taste. I think its from the exceptional fruit(cherry/apple) and locust blooms this year in our immediate area. They are working clover like crazy this week after the rain last week.

This spring's honey here is dark, smells like strawberries and is very thick.  Taste is a little on the strong side but what I would call most excellent.

My honey is likes Doak, so far this year it has been dark with a vwey nutty flavor.     I did a cutout, close to the Alabama line and it was the same tasting.

Color: Not too dark, not too light. A perfect rich golden honey color.

Taste: Rich, Vibrant, Floral.

Spring honey: light gold, when extracting smells like menthol, tastes somewhat minty and fruity, stronger flavored, makes wonderful mead.
Summer honey: golden, smooth, creamy tasting, usually the favorite honey.
Fall honey: dark gold, tastes and smells like dirty gym socks...mmmmmm.....

Extracting this spring's honey this weekend, I'll know more by then.

I've harvested some from last fall that was dark amber and mostly chinese tallow with a little citrus, harvested some about 1 and a half months ago that was medium amber and again mostly tallow, with hint of citrus. Last night, another harvest, golden color, smooth, sweet and a touch of citrus. All so far, harvested about 12-13 gallons.

Oh, forgot about the honey I harvested from one of my swarm traps. It was light in color, mild, with a touch of citrus. I did a removal last week and couldn't stop eating this honey, very citrus like, very very good.

the drought was so bad this year, I have reddish honey, tulip poplar is were that comes from, its been a sad year for honey, thought I had plenty but went all was said and done only got 6 medium supers filled out of 15... bad year here in Georgia for honey..
