Title: Two media sources have reported poisening attempt on President Trump

https://www.infowars.com/source-trump-was-tested-for-deliberate-food-poisoning-at-walter-reed-military-hospital-watch-live/

OAN is also reporting that a SS Agent who was a food tester died in Scotland.  Additionally, they report these two events aren't the only assassination attempts.  One reporter stated PDT will not eat White House food, same reporter wrote that Trump joked with Senate R's that he could not eat food at their banquet recently.

With the CIA and FBI and State Department PO'ed at Trump, it gives you cause to wonder.

I doubt this will make the MSM, I'll follow up with any other info that comes up.

Yes, I got wind of this also. Mike Adams who I have great respect, earlier today explained the suspected probable toxins and their complexity, which may have been used. From what I understand, the Secret Service Agent in Sweden or Scotland, was a while back, separate incident.  Correct me if I am wrong.

You can bet your boots that the SS is on this like a duck on a June Bug. Hopefully they can come up with answers soon.

Your day is still here and reverent Mr Bush,  I meant no offense either.  I used The initials as one may say MB for your name or HP for Honey Pump.  From here on I will say Secret Service as I have great respect and administration for these folks. No disrespect was meant.

Nationalism in itself is not a bad thing.  It is putting your nation first.  Every nation should do what is in the best interest of its own people.  Germany, under the Nazi regime, was not nationalist.  It was expansionist and certainly did not act in the best interest of its own people.

Can you explain the difference between fascism as it was implemented and socialism as it is implemented?

Fascism is a style of government, in the same way that democracy, monarchy, and socialism are other forms of government. Fascism was started in Italy about a hundred years ago by Benito Mussolini, and has come to mean a couple different things since then, but here's the general picture:

Fascism is a right-wing, conservative, nationalistic form of government that prioritizes the nation/state above all else. As such, a fascist government gives itself the role of making decisions in all economic, social, and political matters. That also means the people of the country have essentially no say in the decisions that affect their life - the government makes all the decisions (what to build, what to grow, what to learn, how to be) and the people are to live by them. Fascism generally also disallows any form of political opposition - that is, you can't form another party and there can't be discussion about a political system other than fascism. Tyranny means rule by force, and fascism is generally a tyrannical form of government.

Nazism is a political and philosophical movement made famous by Adolf Hitler beginning in pre-WWII Germany. The word "Nazi" is an abbreviation of the German word for "National Socialism", which comes from the full name: National Socialist German Workers' Party - a right wing political party of which Hitler was the most prominent chairman. The term "Nazism" refers to the philosophical ideas that the party promoted.

Nazism is a blend of fascism (Hitler and Mussolini were good friends), eugenics, social Darwinism, and a couple other ideas. We've already covered fascism, where all aims are for the nation before anything else. Eugenics was a field of thinking that considered the selective breeding of humans in order to pass along desired traits, as is done with domestic animals like race horses. That sounds reasonable, but it also has a strong moral component, as it was also used to justify sterilization of people considered lesser. Eugenics was a common idea in the US and Europe in the beginning of the 20th century. Social Darwinism took the ideas of Darwin's work and applied them to the social affairs of people.  The idea of life being a competition in which those best able to adapt succeed was adopted to mean, essentially, might makes right. As such, the social competitions among the races and among countries said that the most powerful country, or the most powerful race, was therefore the height of nature's development. Darwin didn't think this way, but his ideas about how the myriad species came about was borrowed to justify a widespread philosophy of racism and national pride.

If you take fascism, eugenics, and social Darwinism, toss in a bit of Nordic mythology, and blend it all together, you'll get a general idea of what Nazism was.

Nazism and fascism can seem kind of reasonable on paper, but in practice they very quickly descend into systems of abusive and unchecked power. They've been destructive on the whole wherever they've been adopted, and most of their philosophies have been shown to be impractical or, in the case of genetics, wrong.

The DSA has its roots in the Socialist Party of America (SPA), whose most prominent leaders included Eugene V. Debs, Norman Thomas and Michael Harrington.[2] In 1973, Harrington, the leader of a minority faction that had opposed the SPA's rightward shift and transformation into the Social Democrats, USA (SDUSA) during the party's 1972 national convention, formed the Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee (DSOC). The other faction that split following that convention was the Socialist Party USA (SPUSA), which remains an independent democratic socialist political party. The DSOC, in Harrington's words "the remnant of a remnant", soon became the largest democratic socialist group in the United States. In 1982, it merged with the New American Movement (NAM), a coalition of intellectuals with roots in the New Left movements of the 1960s and former members of socialist and communist parties of the Old Left, to form the DSA.[3]

Initially, the organization consisted of approximately 5,000 ex-DSOC members and 1,000 ex-NAM members. Upon the founding of the DSA, Harrington and the socialist feminist author Barbara Ehrenreich were elected as co-chairs of the organization. The DSA does not run candidates on its own ballot line in elections, but instead "fights for reforms today that will weaken the power of corporations and increase the power of working people". These reforms include decreasing the influence of money in politics, empowering ordinary people in workplaces and within the economy and restructuring gender and cultural relationships to be more equitable.[4] The organization has at times endorsed Democratic electoral candidates?notably Walter Mondale, Jesse Jackson, John Kerry, Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders?and the Green Party candidate Ralph Nader.
map of DSA chapters
Map of DSA chapters as of January 2019

The DSA is not only by far the largest socialist organization in the United States in the 21st century, it is also the largest socialist organization in the United States in over a century.[5][6] By the end of 2017, membership in the organization had risen to 32,000, primarily because of the influx of youth in reaction to the presidency of Donald Trump.[citation needed] As of September 2, 2018, membership stood at 50,000[7] and the number of local chapters had increased from 40 to 181.[8] As of December 2017, the median age of its membership was 33, compared to 68 in 2013.[9] In the 2017 election, fifteen candidates who were members of the DSA were elected to office in thirteen states, most notably Lee J. Carter in the Virginia House of Delegates, adding to the twenty members already holding elected office nationwide.[10] In November 2018, two DSA members, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib, were elected to the House of Representatives while eleven were elected to state legislatures.[11]

A member of the Socialist International (SI) from its founding in 1982, the DSA voted to leave the SI in August 2017 over its acceptance of what the DSA perceived as neoliberal economic policies.[12]

That does not meet my definition of "conservative" or "right-wing".  That meets my definition of Socialist, Liberal.  Anyone who puts the nation and the state above individual rights is not what is called conservative or right wing here.

we certainly have been in the past as have all other nations.  There was a vast world out there for the exploring and settling.

Having a base somewhere is not the same as taking over a country.  As you pointed out, we are there are the invitation of the host nation and we RENT land in most countries.  They like the money both from what we pay directly and the dollars the military members pump into the economy.  We do not run the countries or own the land on which our bases exist.  The exception is GITMO.  We claim that as our own and you can google the history of that bit.

When you define something using tags, you then have to explain the tags.  I asked YOU to differentiate fascism and socialism. Anyone can cut and paste.  I was interested in your understanding of the two.

Fascism: One step away from Neo-Con Republicism, Neo-Con Republicism: One step away from Rightist Cons. ie The market decides if you live or die.

Socialism: Not communism; An element of compassion that supports people who cannot look after themselves but expects everyone to contribute for the greater good.

I know Kathy you will enjoy nitpicking it apart in your inimitable way and I suppose I was a mug to agree but there you go. :cheesy:

You don't have to "rule the country" Having so many bases within and the economic influence you held over them you did not need to rule. This happened all over the world. The silent expansionism.
And you complain of China doing the same?  I think Javelentor or something similar accused me of being a hypocrite I believe a grovel is due  :cheesy:

Cyber,
Socialists have long since known that you cannot change a country quickly to socialism.
They do it the same way that you boil a frog.
If you drop a frog in hot water it will jump out but if you put it in a pan of water and slowly increase the heat, the frog will stay in the pot and be boiled.
Socialist are constantly slow adding socialist policies to our laws and soon we will be boiling in socialism just like the frog.
We are constantly fighting to return to our capitalistic ways.

I am thinking this is my fault for not being clear in what I was asking.  What specific economic and social tenets of fascism and socialism, as we have seen them in practice, are different?

Capitalism is neither right or left.  Capitalism is simply people providing to others what those others want or need and are willing to pay for. The market decides whether or not the person providing those goods and services is successful.

The safety net that most countries provide in varying degrees is a component of socialism.   It is taking from one and giving to another.  A fully socialist economy depends on full government control of the means of production and the distribution of goods.  There is very little difference in either the implementation or the outcome with communism.
The reason socialist countries like Venezuela end up looking like the USSR is that it is the natural progression of government control.  The more things go wrong the more the government needs to step in and control.

If you read Lennen, he often talked about socialism and Social-Democrats.  He also talked about "Democracy".

You might find this interesting and you may have even heard something like it lately.
