Title: Florida again
Post by: Dallasbeek on November 10, 2018, 02:13:15 pm
Hanging chads were not enough.  Florida is headed for another contentious recount battle, this time for governor and senator.  Could we please keep the SCOTUS out of it this time?  And for goodness sake, teach Broward County voters to use those ballots properly.  The rest of the country is watching.

I think those counties that can't follow the law ought to have their votes invalidated.  Do that once and the people will make better choices in who they elect to hold those offices.

I totally agree Kathy.
You would have a lot of upset voters, hopefully they would not allow it to happen again.

Wow, recount,  machines are over heating.
Then why in the h$ll didn't they overheat on 1st count. Because they weren't being used.
Found 90k ballots for senate's race and 80k
Ballots for agriculture.  After the dead line for reporting.  Something doesn't smell good !

Maybe, but this is an issue within the state rather than a presidential election.  You would think the FL supreme court might want to step in THEN SCOTUS might get a crack at it.

It should be pretty simple.  Follow the law.  That was the 2000 SCOTUS ruling in spite of the way it has been spun since.

Kav. Has nothing to do with this. Dr. Snipes does.

Kathy, isn't a Senate seat involved?  Regardless, I think it's arguable that a Senate race should be left to the state to determine.
