Title: Plastic Nucs lifespan
Post by: marshmasterpat on October 13, 2013, 04:52:19 pm
Anyone use any of the plastic deep nucs that are commercially available?

If used as a hive what is the expected lifespan of these?

Seems like they would not be a bad idea, no build time, cost similar to home made super, and if you plan to sell any splits, you are not losing anything beyond the frames.

Ive had some that were from 1973, but they where of a Heavy density

You need to paint them as sunscreen so they don't dry out.
