Title: Goldenrod "lack of flow"
Post by: gardeningfireman on October 04, 2012, 09:40:54 pm
The goldenrod has been blooming for quite a while, now. It is starting to fade. We had a drought here most of the summer. It started raining in mid August, just before the goldenrod started blooming. The bees have brought in hardly any nectar. I started feeding today. Out of the 14 hives I checked this week, only two are in really good shape, honey wise, and four more are so-so. The rest need some serious feeding. Would the drought before the bloom have affected the nectar flow? We have had a good amount of rain since the bloom started.
