The older bees will add warmth for some time before they die and may be needed to defend the hive if the weather gets warm.

I was just wondering if they kick the old bees out because I go all summer long and see very few dead bees in front of the hive, then all of a sudden in the beginning of winter I see alot.

Losses from robbing I bet. I have see a bit here this year. Ants and the yellow jackets are not cleaning up fast enough.

Yes there is fighting going on at entrance but I didn't know they killed the robbers,do they ? I have some mean bees that fight off robbers well but didn't know they kill so many,do they ? Do they kill them by stinging them ? If so then all mine that sting die too.

YEP----YEP and YEP--reduce entrance and make it essayer to protect the hive :ninja:

In the summer you wouldn't see any dead bees around the hive because they will work to there wings fall of and the probable die in some field :'(
