Well it's been a terrible summer here in the UK after a rapid start to the season and pollen flows beginning very well.
Add to the fact that this has been my first year in beekeeping it's been an experience thus far.
Well after hiving a small cast a couple of months ago, feeding them up and then the old queen running out of sperm (I think) my little girls decided to supersede and swarm a week ago leaving me with a few workers and mostly drones.
They did also leave a little capped honey which i duly crushed and ended up with about 1.25 lb!
WOW i hear you say, what a harvest! :)
Well due to the unpredictable weather I've decided it may well be an idea to call an end to the season and look at starting early next season. Hope it's a better one for all the guys and gals here in Britain. On the subject of which is there anyone else much as most members appear to be from the US or further afield.
Regards, Rob.

Cheers guys.
For all you US members, there doesn't appear to be anyone called John Smith on the list and even if there was I wouldn't know him! :-D

Rob, yep, try again next year, you may have absoutely wonderful luck then. It seems there has been lots of strange weather around our globe this year, we have not had the best of summers, yet.....either. Good luck, don't give up hope of a better time. Have a wonderful day, great life. Cindi
