I'm aware, and which is why I mentioned light and dark varieties coming in at the same time.  I was under the impression that the foragers who are evaporating the nectar also keep the varieties separated, but I suppose that would depend on the order in which they unload the returning foragers.  So during low flow situations or times when a two or more flows are of equal strength, I guess there would be a mix of nectars in any given cell.  Correct?

After jarring up some honey, I had to make quite a few swing tag labels. Decided to maker a permanent jig for holding the printed labels sheets in place while the laser cutter drilled the tag holes and cut individual labels out. Used some thick cardboard for the template and used the laser to cut both the locking tabs and the A4 cutout. This jig can now be slipped accurately into place when ever needed. It will be a time saver for cutting out the labels. Every cut is clean and precise. It takes 45 seconds for the machine to drill the holes and cut out 12 labels.

This morning they were still all sitting on the box. It did have a brood frame. They just were not having any of it.
I pulled the nuc down and only a few bees were in the box on the brood frame.
This morning it took about 5-6 times of rattling the pole bucket on the bottom of the branch and dumping them in, then they started marching in. I set them up under the tree for now until they all go in, and then I?ll move them sometime. It looks promising right now. Only a handful are clinging onto the tree branch now.

This seems wasteful.  If you can use it for compost, why not use it for food and save time?  If we are going down this road we might as well go all the way.  Didn't they make a movie about this?   

I have some choices.  Horse is usually weedy by the time it has been out there a while.  even turned, in our environment I can't keep the weeds out of it.  Goat is great, but chicken stuff tea is my favorite for a quick shot to the plants.  You just have to dilute it a lot so you don't burn things.

Honey bees will visit one species of flower until it runs out. But that doesn?t mean that all of the bees in the hive are only visiting that one species. One group is going to one area, controlled by the scouts that found the flowers, and others are following where other scouts found a good source of nectar.

Beware of horse manure unless it's been aged for a few years, it comes with thistles that are impossible to contain.

Mine are 4 ft long.  I have 3 deep frame and 2 medium frame.  Last year the medium frame ones were a couple frames from being full before I pulled several frames of honey.  The deep ones filled about two thirds of the box.  I do pull frames for splits throughout the year.
