oregon (Portland) passed an awful gun law a few years ago and it has been tied up in court ever since.

What was it an 'assault weapons' ban? I'm sure we heard about it but I forget a lot of details. In PA, we are fortunate to have a preemption law that prevents all but cities of the first class (over 1,000,000 inhabitants) from passing any laws more stringent than state laws. They still try now and then, since it's not their money they're fighting us with.
