Title: Creating your own alcohol stove
Post by: eivindm on February 17, 2005, 09:59:40 am
Hi!

I just made my own alcohole stove.  It was made of two coke cans and it works great.  It looks something like this (from the page linked below):

You can't find any lighter stove than this.  The plans for the stove I made can be found here (http://www.pcthiker.com/pages/gear/pepsiGstoveinstruct.shtml).  If you get interested in this, you would probably love Sgt. Rock's page (http://hikinghq.net/) aswell. He has made several different alcohol stoves.  These stoves are great for small trips when the weight is important.  For all the other trips I use my Primus Himalaya Multifuel stove :-)

Fix the pic
I can't wait to see this.
I have a smal backpacking stove that I have had for at least 20 years, works terrific. Looks like a primus but in a aluminum box
I'll have to find a pic.

Hmm..  They had used techniques to avoid external image linking, and my cache fooled me to believe it worked.  Copied the image to my own server,so it should work now.  But I recomend reading this page (http://www.pcthiker.com/pages/gear/pepsiGstoveinstruct.shtml) with more info.
