Title: 2009 worst honey crop ever - Prices rise per consumer pound

Back in October, 2009 (http://www.thedailygreen.com/environmental-news/blogs/bees/honey-beekeeping-47102806) - and not counting hobbyist beekeepers, Kim Folttum of thedaliygreen.com (http://www.thedailygreen.com/environmental-news/blogs/bees/honey-beekeeping-47102806) also the editor of Bee Culture magazine (http://www.beeculture.com/), reports an estimated total of 119 million pounds, produced by 2,223,000 colonies in 2009,  down from an average of 61 pounds of honey harvested per hive to 53.7 pounds each.
