Here is what I found when I opened it up. (See the picture at the bottom)
Since it seemed like this is a rather new hive (minimal stains on the entrances) finding new comb is what we were expecting. Then we cut the next section out and found this.
Note: I was limited to how much I could cut out due to the weight and being ladder work.
When we cut the comb out of this section we had to quit to get the bees off of the roof before dark. This is an hours drive from our farm.
