Post by: ndvan on December 10, 2015, 11:59:02 am
The Northeast Oklahoma Beekeepers Association will hold a beginner beekeeping course on four consecutive Saturday mornings beginning January 16, 2016. Classes will be held in Tulsa at the campus of Wright Christian Academy in Tulsa, OK. The class will cover how to acquire bees, beekeeping equipment, basic honey bee biology, dealing with diseases with pests, hive inspections, and how to care for a bee hive for the first year. Class is taught by two experienced beekeepers.

And, in case you were wondering, beekeeping is both doable and legal inside the city limits of all cities in NE Oklahoma.

More information an online registration are available online at NEOBA.org.

Class fees are $75 per person or $95 for a family that lives together.

Attendees will receive a beginning beekeeping book (Starting Right With Bees) and a one year NEOBA membership. NEOBA also provides continuing education through monthly meetings and through a mentor program.
