Not good.  I?m optimistic that any amount of traps will reduce their population by any significant level.  But I do hope that they are able to locate the hive timely and eradicate it .

Since all the videos I've seen of them show that they hover outside the hives I would think a B B gun loaded with rock salt could be fun. Set up a chair, get out the lemonade and have some target practice. Hope they get them eradicated before it comes to that.

Instead of a BB gun I use my Bug A Salt.

It is great for shooting flying bugs. On soft skinned bugs, like flys, it actually injects salt into the bug. Very effective. It also damages wings.
You get about 80 shots with each full load of table salt.

That would be great for cabbage whites in the garden! I'm getting one. Thanks!

My wife bought this one for me for my birthday last year. In the mornings I would go out one the patio and shoot all of the flies. 30 to 40 of them. I would shoot a lot of them on the brick walls. Later the same on the same days I would go back out there and there would only bee a few flies. After a month or so I would have a hard time finding targets to shoot. This year I usually only find flies around the trash can and the cats food. Most days, this year, I cannot find any flies on the patio or walls.

Jim where did she get the gun.  Unfortunately my wife needs something for ants.  They seek her out and bite her.  Then she blows up in hives.

This one came from the Ace Hardware store in Macclenney.
It cost about $80.
This one is a newer model and is much cheaper.

If you get one, I recommend that you make one modification. The safety switch automatically resets to safe and it is a pain. I drilled a small hole in the stock and added a tiny screw to keep the safety in fire position. This allow rapid firing.
Here is a picture.
