Nice swarm in central NC

I would have thought it's a little early
Still some cold weather to come
Nice clump of bees, got em in the box and home

They were in  a tree next to a buddy of mines house
I suspect they are from his hives
I took the video with a cellphone and I was to busy to film much
here's a couple of short clips merged together
in the end they all marched in the box so I'm sure we got the queen

That is one large swarm. I have caught several like that. They start filling honey supers within a month.

we trimmed as much foliage away as we could and then slipped a garbage bag over the swarm
snipped the branch loose from the tree and we had em
unfortunately, one piece of foliage my buddy snipped had a blob of bees on it so we had to deal with them all in the air
but no stings  :cool:
