The morning Bigrog left my house, I stood and posed at his car's passenger door with the bright idea of placing my hand atop of the recently BEEPROOFED hive that we packaged for his long ride home to Virginia.
Well... Rog and I picked up the supplies for the packaging job at my local hardware store and it sure looked like the screening was the same as THAT used on package bees - I was soon to find out that it was not - lol.
As Rog snapped the photo, Ding-dong me placed my hand on the screen and smiled widely, only to get stung (rather appropiately) on the middle finger, a final GOODBYE from the C3 colony AKA the SWARM THAT FOUND ME!
I got a heads up that from Rog that the photo shows me just as my smile turns to a shocked and pained look, and even as I type this my finger tip is a little swollen, but I think of it as a memory of the DAY BIGROG came to visit!!!!
I hope to see all the pics soon. Rog let the bees fly last night and they are already aquainting themselves to their new location. I wish Rog and his Bees a very healthy and safe Winter and I look forward to the many stories we will hear in the Spring.
