Flow Season in Washington
« on: February 02, 2019, 12:19:03 am »
Hello, as this is my first year beekeeping, I do not know when the flow season is in Washington. I just need to know so I can plan on when to put the honey supers on and when to take one off and harvest. I've done some research and most flowers are in bloom around April-June and tapering off into July. Thanks in advance!

Blackberries are my main.  I also get an early Maple flow.  Pretty well starts when maples bloom and goes thru blackberry bloom

Yeah I get quite a few blackberry bushes around my place so that should supply the bees. I did not know that maple trees bloomed. I will have to look out for that this spring.

One year I managed to get several frames of just Maple honey.  It was awesome

Here in north Florida, the maple flow is just strong enough to support spring buildup. I don?t know anyone who gets honey from it.
