Now it just says their was a problem while attempting to load the java applet.

Yea i cant get it to work still. I got an update i updated java, and it just closes my browser. :-\

In fire fox and explorer.

Could you have a firewall issue? No one else has had a problem on text chat that I know of.
Firefox just updated their browser. Did yours auto update?
Firefox: Options:Tools:content:check allow java
