New Member Introduction
« on: May 13, 2019, 05:38:49 pm »
Hi everybody
I am a new member from Callicoon NY (Wester Catskill, Delaware River Valley). I started beekeeping last year. I got a nuc from a local honey producer whom I met at the farmers market. The bees were a bit slow to settle down at the beginning, which was probably caused by the fact that I had bough frames with a plastic foundation which was not coated with wax. When I changed the frames, they took off and built up quite nicely. They successfully overwintered which made me very happy. I always have lots of random questions and I hope to learn from the members of this forum. I usually get advice from the people who provided me with the bees, but I see them only once a week so sometime I like to get my curiosity satisfied sooner :)
Thank you!
R
