Christmas flowering plants

I have a Christmas cactus maybe Thanksgiving cactus I received a few years ago. It never does much,what are the hints to make this thing more vigorous and maybe actually "bloom" once a year?
I also have amaryllis that seem to get tall and leafy, but I think my timing is off on bringing out of dormancy?

We have six of them. We feed with Miracle grow. We let it stay semi dry until October, then pick up on the watering for the winter, IE: blooming time. We have red, pink, yellow, and white blooming ones.

What iddee said. There are different kinds, and I have one strain that blooms soon. The others bloomed before Thanksgiving.

Judy has one on the patio. Every year it blooms around Christmas except this year. It was moved around a lot while we remodeled/closed in the patio. We have often heard that they don?t like to bee moved. It has been in the same spot for at least six months now. I guess it is true.

We have a Thanksgiving cactus on the windowsill in the kitchen.  We don't take super good care of it, but it flowers every year anyway.  It's very well established by now though, so it can probably buffer more neglect than it could when it was younger.
