My Top Bar Hive (http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b89/keaeris/TBH-11May08/)
The body is made of cedar. The top bars themselves are made of scrap pine and cedar. The finish is linseed and beeswax. The roof is a piece of 2' by 4' , 7/16 inch plywood, covered with a piece of diffuser lense used in fluorescent lighting fixtures, upon which heavy things will be stacked until BEM and I can make a top notch roof for the beastie. (And I am about two inches from making it with cedar shakes to complete the look of the thing.)
Hubby did the complex saw cuts with the table saw, and I did pretty much everything else.
The package for this hive comes tomorrow, and I am hoping to see it get warm enough to hive them.

Wow! It kinda makes my pine shelving box TBH look shabby. Have to get a little fancier on my next one. :)

Neat. You know, if you put wheels on it it would probably qualify for the soap box derby. LOL
