hive 1; inspection 1
« on: April 19, 2013, 10:33:15 pm »
today was my 1st inspection after putting my package of bees in. it took alittle longer then i thought because it was alittle difficult to put the bars back together.
we took pictures as we did it and later saw the queen in them. we also saw her in person as well. it was exciting. my hive is an end entrance hive. i found the queen on the 2nd bar with
comb. 1st bar was empty and a lot of bees on the end. dont know what they were doing, making comb? i also had comb on the 3rd bar. both pieces were about a 4'' sqaure. the bees were active bringing in pollen.

Sounds like things are going good.  Not that this is your problem, but I numbered my bars after seeing which ones fit together the best, all the numbers on one side.  I also have an end entrance, I added a 1/4 inch to the side of the first bar on the entrance side.  They started with the first bar.  I have also made my bars into frames.  Good luck to you and your bees.
