Clover and animals

(1/1)

NCSteve:
Some quick questions if you please.

Ive heard that sweet clover will thin cows blood from a dairy farmer. Is this true?

If so, do I stay away from sweet clover altogether if beef cows may be put to it?

Does sweet clover have that kind of effect (if any) on horses or ponies?

 Thanx

TwT:
I heard clover will make horses slobber to death

Geebus T, you know how to get ones attention. :)

Seeing your links, thanx by the way, made me stop remodeling the nursery and sit down a minute.

What I got out of it all was sweet clover can mold when harvested which can result in the toxin that causes the problems.

We got to call the guy selling the clover. Because theres supposed to be new sweet clovers that have a lower concentration of....coumasomethingorother. Its either the lower versions or nada on the sweet.

Unless someone can throw me a bone and tell me the chances of cows bleeding to death and horses foaming at the mouth are next to nil.
