Simplified Wintering
« on: April 11, 2018, 06:32:46 pm »
Throwing the attached into the wintering debate I only just
ran across this as the poster anounced after 14 weeks of bitter
low temps his 4 established colonys all survived with the
developing swarm boxed in September 2017 not making it
through.
IF I was posting to that forum I would caution the elation as
the colonys are still yet to set themselves for Spring.
But the poster is - right now - in high tune/note mode :-).

The 'design' is simply a pile of fall leaves over the boxes with
a canvas tarp/cover thrown on top, short of covering the sides.
Thoughts?

(Update)
Can the excitement people, it's a tent. Poster is FOS with likely
surprises coming in due course. Location is Indianna with a
quoted wind chill "below freezing".
Direct quote;
"Its a camouflage  hunting blind. The material is printed like
that... when it warms up i can open the sides for the moisture,
right now its to cold to worry about it. "

These things come out under review by forum.
I went early.. mybad ;-(

Why not just buy a 3 person tend for this winter set up?   I'm sure it is sturdy enough to last a
few season.

Why ruin someone's elation?  He/she is a hobbyist having fun with his/her hobby.
You plucked this from a forum where another member posts on a regular basis.  Her name is Nancy and her post are much longer then yours.  So much so that she has written more words on that forum about bees then Michael Bush has in his book.  She is well respected, liked and praised.  Certainly you have seen the clap trap that she throws against her hives?  This one is more pleasing to the eyes.  Can't you just let people have their fun?

errrr. Brian, I know who <enjambres> is.
Interesting you "out" posters for your own ends!
How could you know know the lady is not reading
BMA under another nym?
FYI... I rarely read BS.com beyond the commercial guys
forum. Way too much silliness and advertising, in my book.

But you go right ahead... leaping about in speculation.

FTR... the info my post relied on was not ftom BS.com.
The poster identifies as owning male genitalia and was
utilising same to polevault through the thread.
Not I who took the c'saw to his frolic - I do not post
there, never have.

Profiling.  Anyone could tell your post no matter what nym you used.  If Nancy posted here it wouldn't be hard to tell.

"Profiling"???
I am not so sure I woud want to address that comment Brian.

Such is certainly not what I would expect to read in such a
benign pursuit as beekeeping... are you one of
Cambridge Analytica's operatives Brian?

Yet once again your tactic to divert over address the topic is noted.
