Bees finally found some pollen.
« on: August 10, 2018, 10:58:38 am »
The bees in my observation hive have not been finding much pollen. We have been feeding them sugar water but not pollen.
This morning they obviously found a great supply:

A few minutes later I took this picture:

Funny thing is my 2 other hives have not found it yet. Maybe later today.

Wow, those bees have full pollen sacks, almost every bee.

My bees here in Arkansas have found pollen but my concern is the pollen is from bitterweed as I am seeing bitterweed blooming everywhere.  It?s good for the bees, they like it, just don?t extract the Honey.

Cool pics, Jim, thanks for sharing.  Every beek is pleased to see bees with full pollen sacks, especially this time of year.

I suspect these bees found golden rod a long ways from here. The other 2 outdoor hives have not found it yet.
I just looked and almost all of the bees have gone into the hive and unloaded their pollen.

Yes!  That means it's probably coming my way soon.  *Rubs hands together.*

Jim, did your other hives find the pollen?  This is interesting that only one so far has found pollen.

No, and what is more surprising is is this hive did not bring in any pollen today.

Go figure, the honey bees do keep us guessing sometimes.
