Lechwe-
How big is that entrace in the middle of the boxes? And how thick is the spacer you used? I think I'd like to make one for my hives.

Beth,

You are looking at a standard entrance reducer I made. The opening is 4" wide and 3/8" tall. The entire piece is 3/4" thick. I have a 1" wide opening if you turn teh reducer 90 degrees. I have a small opening right now cause that is a new package about 4 weeks old. I will probably remove it completely in 3-4 weeks when they build up more.

Ok, thank you. :) I got so into building the hive stand I just finished that I was thinking about building a few more things.
- upper entrances
- experimental top bar frames
- inner lids that have a large hole in the center (with screen for now) and later will be where I place an inverted jar for feeding when needed (with screen moved out of the way)
